Tri-Clamp Valves

Tri-Clamp valves, also known as tri-clover valves, are a type of sanitary valve used to control flow in hygienic applications that require sanitary connections. These valves are designed to control the flow of liquids while maintaining a sanitary environment by preventing the buildup of bacterial and ensuring easy cleaning. For these reasons they are widely used in food and beverage processing, dairy, breweries, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. These sanitary valves feature tri-clamp connection ends that provides for quick installation and removal, which facilitates easy cleaning and maintenance. Constructed from high-quality stainless steel, tri clover valves are durable, resistant to corrosion and easy to clean. There are various type of hygienic valves the most common being tri-clamp ball valves and sanitary butterfly valves. Their sanitary design with smooth crevice free internal surfaces, and quick installation designs make tri clamp valves the preferred choice in sanitary processing systems where cleanliness and ease of maintenance are essential.

What are Sanitary Valves used for?
Sanitary valves also referred to as Tri-Clover Valves are used to control the flow of fluid in processing that require high levels of hygiene. Their primary function is to start, or stop the flow of fluids and in some cases to regulate the flow rate while maintaining strict hygienic standards so as to prevent contamination. These valves are commonly used in applications where frequent cleaning and sterilization are required, and can be cleaned in place (CIP) and sterilized in place (SIP). Their tri-clamp connection allows for quick disassembly for easy cleaning and quick maintenance and service. Their smooth, crevice-free design minimizes the buildup of bacterial, maintaining product integrity which makes them ideal for applications that demand strict hygiene standards.
Industries:
- Food and Beverage: Breweries, wineries, dairies, food & beverage processing plants, and homebrew applications.
- Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals: Where strict hygeine, ease of cleaning, minimum risk of contamination and bacteria build up is required.
- Chemical Processing: Where sanitary connections and corrosion resistance is needed.
Why are they used?:
- Sanitary Design: Smooth surfaces with a polished finish and lack of internal crevices prevent bacteria buildup and other contaminates from accumulating.
- Easy Cleaning: Designed to be easily cleaned either manually or while still attached to the application by means of clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) processes.
- Quick Connections: The tri-clamp connections enable easy assembly and disassembly for quick cleaning and service.
- Corrosion resistance: Constructed out of stainless steel they provide excellent corrosion resistant
Types:
- Tri-Clamp Ball Valves: Used mainly as shut off valves as an on/off flow control.
- Tri-Clamp Butterfly Valves: Offers a wide range of flow rate control by turning the handle to multiple preset positions. Suitable for CIP.
