Uses:

Used to control flow mostly for an "on" or "off" type of application.

Advantages:

Some of the advantages over a traditional ball valve are that they are smaller and are able to open and close quickly.

The disc is lighter than a ball so the valve doesn’t need as much structural support than a ball valve of the same diameter.

A Tri-Clamp Butterfly Valve comes equipped with a squeeze trigger that can be locked in 13 different positions.

Cleaning:

These valves can be cleaned in place without worry of hidden areas for bacteria build up where sanitation is important.
